Pluristyx, Inc. is an advanced therapy tools and service company serving customers in the rapidly growing field of regenerative medicine and cellular therapies. Pluristyx product lines include pluripotent stem cells and related reagents for use in R&D and manufacturing. In addition, Pluristyx offers contract development, manufacturing, and consulting services in support of clients in all phases of the product development and manufacturing life cycle.
Pluristyx is seeking an enthusiastic and self-driven individual to join the process development team focused on advancing new products and enabling technologies. This full-time position will participate in process development activities for the manufacture of cell-based products and will perform hands-on experiments to support development and delivery of different cellular therapeutics.
The incumbent will receive specialized training on formulation and cryopreservation process for cellular therapies. This position is a cross functional role in the Process Development, working closely with the Research and Analytical teams, and will be supervised by and will report directly to the head of Process Development Department at Pluristyx.
The PD Associate/Engineer role in the Pluristyx Process Development lab is a unique opportunity to gain experience in the multidisciplinary field of cellular therapies and will provide the candidate with ample exposure to various aspects of cell therapy development from different cellular/tissue origins. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work on different projects spanning across translating laboratory research to a commercial process, to final process design and considerations for various cell therapy process unit operations. This will include implementation of novel technologies for integration into new or existing platform processes. Requirements
Education & Experience
BS or MS in Biology, Bio/Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field with 0-5 years combined academic/industrial experience; RA/Senior RA level will be adjudicated on combined education and experience
Relevant experience in data collection, documentation, and maintaining laboratory notebooks is necessary
Prior hands-on experience in mammalian and/or primary cell culture is a plus
Prior hands-on experience in cell cryopreservation is a plus
Prior technical experience with analytical methods and cellular assays is a plus
Primary Responsibilities
Participate in the design and planning of experiments
Independently perform experiments and manage necessary supplies and inventory
Utilize electronic lab notebook (ELN) to ensure experiments are well documented and reported in a clear and concise manner
Present the results in relevant weekly meetings
Communicate experiment plans with other teams to ensure efficient use of lab resources
Use professional software to maintain and analyze a database of results
Work on aspects of Design of Experiments (DOE) approach to complex problem-solving using DOE software
Research new process startup, process deviation investigations, troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Participate in aspects of process tech transfer from Research and to Manufacturing
Other Responsibilities
Assist in different projects as needed
Prepare media and buffers for experiments
Support lab functions including maintenance of laboratory supplies, equipment maintenance
Under supervision of senior staff, will support GMP manufacturing activities as needed; may be involved in hands-on GMP manufacturing or as person-in-plant.
Weekend hours may be necessary for cell culture maintenance, and will be accounted towards the regular working hours
