Research Associate (neuronal differentiation)

Pluristyx is seeking a smart and dedicated research assistant to support our tissue culture and neuronal differentiation efforts. The ideal candidate has experience in managing cell lines and performing aspects of cell-based production (e.g. tracking cell receipt and inventory, cell line optimization, expansion, feeding, harvesting, counting, and freezing), analysis, PCR genotyping, supply maintenance, and general lab organization.
The primary duties include producing various types of mammalian cells and manufacturing final product for commercial distribution, including the creation and revision of relevant SOPs, performing daily tasks in a controlled (possibly cGMP) environment, and troubleshooting of manufacturing challenges. Laboratory responsibilities include cell line expansion and characterization, cell banking, tissue sectioning, immunostaining and cell imaging.
Candidate will be able to follow established Pluristyx rules, regulations, and safety precautions, documentation practices, and maintain quality standards. Due to the nature of production, overtime and weekend work may be required depending on business needs. The candidate will work closely with internal functional teams and external clients and provide scientific results that support the generation of publications, patents, or regulatory submissions.

Education & Experience
Formal education in Biology or related field;
BS/MS with 1-4 years of hands-on cell culture experience in academic/industrial setting;
Comfortable with handling/aliquoting sterile reagents
Demonstrated experience in cell culture banking of mammalian cell types in a controlled or clean room environment;
Hands-on experience with basic molecular biology techniques (PCR, genotyping, Western blot)
Experience in Current Good Manufacturing Practices environment and flow cytometry preferred.
Duties & Daily Tasks
Perform aspects of cell-based production, including but not limited to cell expansion, cell feeding, harvesting, counting and freezing, product seeding, labeling, intermediate formulations, and operation of robotic fill/finish system, of human PSCs, somatic cells, and cell lines;
Create documentation for each task, including cleaning procedures, aseptic processing techniques, GMP (as needed), and safety practices and procedures;
Perform production-related tasks as assigned by the group lead;
Follow, create, and update SOPs as needed;
Perform daily tasks in a controlled (possibly cGMP) environment;
Troubleshoot manufacturing challenges;
Follow established company rules, regulations, and safety precautions, and maintain quality standards;
Perform facilities maintenance as needed, including ordering of supplies, materials, and equipment for production;
Assist in training new and existing employees on the cell expansion manufacturing process;
Assist in providing positive and constructive individual feedback and building teamwork;
